Guest Designer - Special Sunday Edition

Hi girls, Before my post about my scrap space starts there are few things I want to warn you about... First, we moved into this home exactly one year ago and my room has been the last to be "decorated" so it is a modge podge of stuff for now! 2nd, I find it very hard to spend money on things for this room... I would rather buy new paper and fabric than matching furniture! It is what I call "a scrap room on a budget. And lastly, my room does have a name... and my scrap blog was named after my little room.  We call it "The No-No Room" because when my first born would come in all he heard was "no-no that's mommies".

This is how it looks when you first walk in... well, on a good day!

On the left side is my sewing table.  I have an etsy store that has started picking up so we recently moved out the futon and in an old table so my sewing machine could stay out and be accessed easily.

This is the scrap space of the cutest little scrapper you will ever meet.  My daughter Addy is already a scrapper at 2 1/2!

I have had this shelf since my ole college days... it is nice for holding my in process books, magazines and resources, and pretty much all my stamping stuff.

All of my storage stuff on this shelf pretty much doubles as party and play date decor... I buy a lot of silver pieces from Target and Goodwill because it can easily blend into lots of themes.  Inside the bigger square boxes are my acrylic stamps.  My most used wooden stamps are displayed on an old spice rack.  On the top shelf are jars full of older flowers and little embellishments and on the other side are a few tin cans covered in paper that hold all my old fancy border scissors... I just can't let those go!

This is my desk!  My favorite spot in my whole house (aside from my bathtub)  My husband gave me the table and the shelf for my birthday before we had kids.  They are both from Ikea.  I have tried putting it out in the middle of the room thinking me and my daughter could share it... guess I am not very good at sharing!

Again, up on this shelf is a bunch of recycled storage... on the top is paper covered formula cans... they hold big chipboard pieces.  I also LOVE using jars... not cool vintage ones, just ones from my pantry after the olives and jelly are finished.  I am telling you I just don't spend on anything but paper and fabric-lol!  You may spot a few accessories from my grandmother and the framed word "settle" is my one little word for this year.

To the right of my desk is where my most used supplies are... my printer, Cricut, newest papers and card stock, as well as all my alpha, Stickles, mists, and ribbon!

One of my favorite finds are these tubs... you can get them from Walmart or Dollar General.  They are all over my house, but in the No-No Room they hold my 12x12 paper and card stock perfectly.  And maybe it is the old teacher in me,  but I LOVE thumbing through my paper like files... so easy to find stuff and return it!

I do not think this is any new idea... I stole it from my mom... who stole from a magazine.  I sort my scrapbook ribbon by color and the loop it on to a book ring and then hang them onto an old fashioned accordion peg board.

This is of Addy's art area.  I will save the inside the closet for another day!

Thanks for visiting The No-No Room... if you are ever in the neighborhood come make stuff with me or visit me on line at http://www.theno-noroom.blogspot.com/ .

I guess you don't say NoNo so much anymore. :) I love how you've included space for her and your clever way of repurposing food containers. TFS!
