Cards & Tags Thursday

Hi! Cathie here to welcome you to the first Cards & Tags Thursday of 2013.  This week I'm sharing four Valentines Day cards that I created with two of the wonderful lines that Memory Works carries.  The first two cards were created using Echo Park.  You can check out all of their fabulous papers here.

For this card I layered my solid card stock with some patterned paper and stitched around with my sewing machine to add some texture.  I stamped the XOXO on card stock and created a pennant of sorts.  I then punched two holes in the card to thread my jute twine through to create the bow.

This card showcases a really great way to use up little scraps that you have laying around.  I cut my scraps and adhered to the front of the card and then I stitched down the center of each piece and ended with a tiny punched heart at the bottom of the stitching.

These next two cards were created using Carta Bella's "Beautiful Moment". You can see this paper here.  I'm sure you will agree that these are stunning papers. 

I punched three squares for the top half of this card and cut a rectangle from coordinating paper and punched the edge with one of my edge punches.  I inked the edges of the papers and then I added three tiny punched hearts from the solid card stock and finished off with some organza ribbon from my stash.

For my final card today, I ran a piece of pink card stock through my Big Shot using one of the embossing folders that I got from Santa.  For the hearts I used my old Sizzix die cutting machine and cut three hearts and adhered them over some of the embossed hearts.  I cut a small strip of paper to match and adhered to the bottom of the card.  I stamped the hugs and kisses on the reverse side and rounded the two bottom corners with a punch.
